A low level employee Aaron Greenberg (Jonah Hill), at a record company brain storms up the idea to put together a concert for fading rock star, Aldous Snow (Russell Brand), who’s latest album has epically tanked. Aaron’s boss (Sean Combs) goes along with this idea and puts Aaron in charge of getting Aldous, who is residing in London, to the concert which will take place in 3 days at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Over the next three days various hilarity and hijinks occur. Some of it was humorous but most is raunchy, steps over the line and almost made you feel uncomfortable. Of course in the end, as you can imagine, Aaron gets Aldous to the concert just in time. And in the process both Aaron and Aldous realize that they learned something from each other. Russell Brand’s performance is pretty good in the movie. And as much as I dislike Sean Combs, his character is amusing every time he appears on the screen. And Jonah Hill just needs to go on a diet. I don’t think I laughed out loud at any point in this movie. This is a bad movie. 2 out of 10.
Lyric of the Day:
The age of man is over.
A darkness comes and all.
These lessons that we've learned here have only just begun.
We were the kings and queens of promise.
We were the victim of ourselves.
Maybe the children of a lesser God, between heaven and hell.
