Well I consider this just a rip off of Robo Cop 2. Stark Enterprises and a company put together by Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) rival, Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) are both looking to secure a big government military contract for the soldiers of the future. The side plot is Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) goes head to head with Tony Stark twice as he attempts to restore his father’s good name. Vanko’s father and Stark’s father collaborated on the first arc reactor. Iron Man is victorious both times, which gives you a warm feeling inside, sort of like when the Packers defeat the Bears twice in the same season. As you can probably guess, Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer team up in a failed attempt to destroy both Iron Man and Stark Enterprises. Tony Stark is also dying of palladium poisoning from the arc reactor that is keeping him alive. Big shock, all things get resolved and Iron Man flies off into the sunset. Everyone hyped Mickey Rourke’s performance going into the movie, but the fact that he gets whipped twice by Iron Man really takes away from his performance. The fact that it took me so long to put together a review speaks volumes of my opinion of the movie. I give this movie a 4 out or 10.
Lyric of the Day:
Has he lost his mind
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall
